Ribbon Palm

$25 per foot overall height.  Available in 4-17' height

The ribbon fan palm can be planted as a single specimen but is more striking if planted in groups of three. The ribbon fan palm is tolerant to drought and grows on a wide variety of well-drained soils, but it grows fastest and looks healthiest when it is watered regularly. In the United States, it can survive where temperatures do not drop below 20°F, such as in parts of Florida, Texas, Arizona, and California.

It prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade, and it can reach heights of 30 to 50 feet. Individual leaves are large with widths ranging from 7 to 9 feet. Each leaf can reach a length of 4 to 6 feet and is attached to a 6-foot petiole that is armed with short, sharp teeth along its margin.

Leaves are dark green on their topside and grayish green on their underside. Male and female flowers appear on branching flower inflorescences that emerge among the leaves. The inflorescences are 4 to 9 feet long and bear yellow blooms. The fruit is 1/2 inch to 5/8 inches in diameter and turns black when ripe.

$30 per foot overall height.  Available in 3-12' height

Nitida Palm

A Tropical, fast growing palm tree that has a dense crown of stiff fronds with lime-green palmate leaves.  A manicured trunk gives this palm a sharp look growing 30’-40’ tall with a 12’-15’ spread.  It requires full sun, but can tolerate partial shade, although it won’t grow as lush.

It can withstand various soil conditions, as long as there is sufficient drainage.  It is cold tolerant and drought tolerant when established.  It can be planted as an accent tree or grouped in different elevations for shade canopy scape.

The flowers are solitary or in clusters of 2-5 and have triangular sepals. The fruit is globose (diameter 13–20 mm) and glossy black. The palm’s dark green foliage, attractive thatched trunk, cold hardiness and pest resistance all contribute to its desirability.

$85 per foot of clear trunk.  Available in 1-5' clear trunk height

Sylvester Palm

Slow growing tropical palm, it can reach heights of up to 50 feet and grows well in areas where temperatures do not fall below 15°F. Leaves are pinnately compound and blue-green, and they can grow to 10 feet in length while heavily branched and aerial roots bear small white blossoms that may also be present at the base of the trunk.

The palm produces oblong fruits that are 1 inch long and occur in orange clusters, turning dark red to purple when mature. The Sylvester palm is an attractive landscape specimen with its blue-green leaves, textured trunk, and yellow inflorescences.

The canopy of this palm is dense, exhibits a round shape, and can provide light shade. This palm will thrive and show the best growth when it is planted in direct sunlight and is drought tolerant. It prefers well-drained sandy soils, but it grows better when regularly watered.
